SUNFLOWERS ARE YELLOW. IS IT RIGHT OR .... ?

Image
That’s what most people think but there are actually other colors available such as white, lime, orange and bicolor. One of the most dramatic is the red sunflower: it’s a vivid red growing darker as you get closer to the centre. The red sunflower is extremely striking and adds a sense of drama to a garden bed. It exists for ornamental use, can grow to about 10 feet tall, and is an impressive sight. It also has the ability to grow multiple heads, giving it more flowers than the ordinary sunflower hence improving the overall appearance. Red sunflowers are special because they don’t occur in the wild. It’s a result of breeding flowers so that they will gain unique and dramatic ornamental qualities. There are also dwarf red sunflowers available that grow in a bush-type planting and are only 20-24” high. Red sunflowers are atypical. They’re handpainted in this mosaic thus presenting some fun and challenge to gardeners who like their plantings to be unique conversation-starter http://bit.ly/

This handmade and handpainted ceramic mosaic represents an Arab woman, lightly veiled with pink silk, leaving only her beautiful black eyes of doe, typically underlined with kohl powder typical of the Middle East. Behind her is an elegant blue bird cage typical of Tunisian handicraft, surrounded by pink and red flowers, green leaves and colorful birds framed with blue against a white background! One can notice that this Arab woman is not in the cage but out of it. A sign of freedom and change. What's more exotic and original? http://bit.ly/2wnJLSS

MOSAIC OF DOVES IN LOVE

Image
Nearly everything on earth has some sort of symbolism which happens with birds. The brightly colored birds are usually symbolized correctly to represent happiness and joy but some of the darker colored birds are not so lucky and are usually misrepresented. Part of the light colored dove’s symbols comes from the color of the dove itself. Positive energy springs from the dove which could be why it’s so often representative of love. Many animals and plants symbolize love, but doves seem to symbolize a specific kind of love. A pure love. Another reason why white doves represent love is the “coo” sound they make when “talking” together. There are many stories and myths about it. Native Americans believed that doves communicate with the sky to announce the rain. It may be a coincidence but doves share many symbolic qualities with water such as purity. This mosaic is all romantic: pink flowers, green leaves, yellow fountain and a “blue roof” to protect doves in love. Isn’t it lov http://bit.l

NEAPOLIS

Nabeul (Neapolis or New City) ancient battlefield for the Greek founded in the 5th Century AC and twin sister to another Neapolis (Naples, Italy) is the capital of the ceramic, northeast Tunisia. Known since the Greek and Roman eras for its fine terra cotta pottery, Nabeul has developed a more diversified quality of pottery with the arrival of Islam by shifting its styles to the well-known Persian decor (current Iran). Ceramics has been since considered for mosques and palaces decor. Besides, Nabeul has known 3 major stages in optimizating techniques and pottery production: strong development following the influence of the Renaissance movement in neighboring Italy; Muslims chased from Andalusia after the catholics conquered Spain found refuge in Nabeul; a major influence with the French Protectorate on Tunisia The increasing number of tourists visiting the region has contributed to the evolution of pottery, soliciting artisans to come out with designs to meet the "Europea http://b
